Subject: Adios Mancora! :(
Buenos noches!
So I'm on the bus. Watching more movies dubbed in Spanish. Luckily, I am sitting next to a super nice guy from Miami who is moving to Mancora for the next few months to bartend before he goes back to school. (Heading back to Lima to pick up some of his belongings) He just gave me a really cute little necklace from Punta Cana - something I'd never wear - but I'm def gonna use it as a keychain! I am currently now infusing him with the sounds of Andrew Bird from my iPod. From someone who only listens to hip-hop, I'm curious to see if he would like comtemporary folk music by a white guy.
So today. We didn't end up going to Cabo Blanco bc it was a 2 hour bus ride plus another taxi. So we ended up going to Los Organos, another beautiful, secluded beach about 10 minutes south of Mancora. We were about to spend the day just lounging around on the sand but it was super windy so we wandered around to a few of the different hotels and found one that would let us use their pool in return for us buying some drinks. The hotel we ended up finding was called Soleil - a mini luxury hotel that was almost totally empty (tourist season doesn't start until December here). We took over the little outdoor restaurant and lounge area and ordered fresh pineapple daquiries mixed with a little bit of lime (and lots of rum) and spent the next hour or two playing this Argentinian dice-game called Dudo. All while overlooking the infiniti pool with the blue ocean as its backdrop. Yup. Did not want to leave. We then had another Amazing lunch at a cheaper nearby hole-in-the-wall restaurant. More ceviche of course, but this time it was made from Marlin! So so good.
I was so so sad to leave the Point Hostel and the ocean, but I'm hoping the next part of Peru is going to be just as amazing. I am leaving with TONS of great of advice from the friends I stayed with since they've all been to every single place I want to go to. So before we part ways tomorrow I'm having a little session with them and writing it all down.
Tomorrow night's update will be super boring bc I plan on just running some errands (laundry, booking flight to Cusco, hittin up the S. American Explorers Club/ SAE again, hopefully find a computer to start unloading pics, etc)
Jose still has not taken out the headphones yet...I may have made another Andrew Bird fan!! That or his sleeping pill has already kicked in.
Okey dokey. Sleepy time.
I love you!!
-Aileen :)

Pic attached is my view. For the next 13 hours.
